These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the LingoMate AI website and application (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Lingomate AI ("we", "us", "our"), trading as LingoMate AI. By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these terms and enter into an agreement with Lingomate AI. Contact: support@lingomateai.com.

1. The Service

LingoMate AI is an AI-powered Tamil and English learning platform offering structured levels and lessons, vocabulary and flashcards, grammar practice, an AI tutor with voice conversation, pronunciation feedback and progress tracking. Some features require a paid Pro subscription.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You confirm you are of legal age to form a binding contract, or that you have permission from a parent, guardian or school; if you accept on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

3. Licence and restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own learning within the plan you have selected. You must not reverse engineer the Service, resell or redistribute its content, or circumvent technical limits such as usage quotas or rate limits.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:

• use it for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of applicable laws;
• engage in fraud, spam, or abusive or harassing behaviour;
• infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• interfere with the security or integrity of the Service, including uploading malware, probing or scanning systems, or scraping content or data;
• share your account with others or attempt to resell access.

5. AI features, prompts and outputs

• You are responsible for the prompts, text and audio you submit, for how you use the outputs, and for confirming you have the rights to any content you input.
• You must not use the AI features to generate illegal content, hate speech, harassment, sexual content involving minors, malware, deceptive impersonation or deepfakes, or to attempt to jailbreak or bypass safety controls.
• You retain rights in your inputs. You may use the outputs generated for you for your own learning and personal or internal purposes. Outputs may not be unique and similar outputs may be generated for other users.
• Accuracy: AI-generated translations, explanations, scores and pronunciation feedback may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are educational aids only and must not be relied on as professional, legal, medical, financial or examination advice without independent verification.
• Moderation: we may filter, refuse, restrict or remove content and outputs, and may suspend accounts, to enforce these terms or protect the Service.
• Rights-holder complaints: if you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, email support@lingomateai.com with details and the material's location. We will review and remove infringing material where appropriate, and repeat infringers will lose access.

6. Intellectual property

We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service, including its software, lesson content, curriculum, design, trademarks and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you. You grant us a limited licence to host and process the content you submit solely to provide and improve the Service to you.

7. Payments, subscriptions and taxes

Payments for LingoMate AI are collected by Lingomate AI through our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not receive or store your full card details. Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis. You can cancel at any time; access to Pro features continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. See our Refund Policy. For billing questions, email support@lingomateai.com.

8. Service availability and warranties

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance; features may change, and maintenance or third-party outages may cause downtime. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious violations of our acceptable use rules. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. On termination your right to use the Service ends; you may request an export of your learning data within 30 days, after which we may delete it.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill or anticipated savings. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from content you submit, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified through the Service or by email, and continued use after the effective date means you accept them.

13. General

You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
